Tornado Road Marathon Hurricane DVDs

For all of the first time visitors to my personal website that have come here from seeing the show Tornado Road marathon on The Weather Channel today, thank you for visiting and I suppose you have a few questions.  Feel free to email me your questions about the show.

If your just here to send me an email saying YOU SUCK, or you hate me on TV, well before you do that, just remember, I did not pick who I got to chase with on that show, the production company did.

Also I did not edit the show and I did not produce the show.  I’ll be happy to give you the producers phone number and email address to tell him he sucks if you really hate the show but I’m just some dude that was stuck with someone I could not stand for a month.

If you liked the storm chasing and the hurricane chasing you saw on TV and want to see more of the insane footage, you should check out the YouTube video that Chris and I put together.

Tornado Road Marathon on The Weather Channel

Tornado Road on The Weather Channel

The Weather Channel (TWC) will be running a marathon of the new show called Tornado Road on Thanksgiving day staring… ME.

The broadcast times are from 7:00 PM Eastern with non stop broadcasts all evening and into the early morning until 4:00 AM Eastern.

Watching tropical storm IDA forecast, might be chasing Hurricane IDA next week.

Just when I came up for air after spending about 90 hours editing a wedding video for a client and finished the rough draft this afternoon, looks like the weather is coming back to life.

The National Hurricane Center just named the latest tropical system, Tropical Storm IDA.   Looking at the forecast models, this is still way too early to say what will happen in five days.  The latest 18Z GFDL run shows the storm will go insane and turn into a monster while the HWRF 18Z run shows the system will move inland over Central America and die.  Then the interesting thing is the GFS 18Z run shows the storm moving into the Gulf of Mexico and looping like what happened with Hurricane Jeanne in 2004.  The GFS shows the track almost like a horse shoe where it goes up to the gulf coast then heads back down to Cuba.  Confused yet?  Bottom line, keep your eye on this system, the end of the hurricane season is not over yet and we could have a late season storm to hit the USA.

You can’t hide behind a blog anymore.

I just received a newsletter from Legal Zoom and in it they have an interesting story about bloggers and some of the B.S. that some posted on the net.

Bloggers Busted By Courts

Click  Here to read the full story.  Below is the best part since the storm chasing community has a lot of jealous scumbags in it.

Blogger Unmasked in Model Case

“In August 2009, we saw the case of Liskula Cohen, a 37-year-old model who found herself being called “skank” and “ho,” among other derogatory descriptions, in anonymous blog posts. Cohen decided to sue the blogger for defamation, but before she could do so, she needed to know who to sue. So her attorneys filed a motion to compel Google, operator of the Blogger.com site that housed the blog in question, to reveal the identity of the blog author.

The New York Supreme Court found that Cohen had indeed “established the merits” of a defamation action in that the statements on the blog contained assertions of objective fact, in particular suggesting Cohen was sexually promiscuous, that could form the basis of a defamation claim. “

Wow, that’s great news since there have been some bogus blogs about a few storm chasers and some of which even attacked my girlfriend and me a year ago.

So it look’s like Google and the rest of the blog-o-sphere will be changing the wild west of the internet and those hiding under rocks and behind fake names will soon be forced into the light.

The new rule of the internet is if you would not say it to someone face to face, you better not post it on line or they will still be able to find out what you said and then your going to look pretty stupid getting sued for acting like a 10 year old.

The Weather Channel Presents the World Television Premiere of Tornado Road

New Six-part Series Follows Storm Chasers on their Quest for TornadoesOctober 13, 2009 04:38 PM Eastern Daylight Time

ATLANTA–(EON: Enhanced Online News)–The high-voltage drama and dangerous adventure of tornado chasing touches down on The Weather Channel® (TWC) with the world television premiere of Tornado Road premiering Sunday, Oct. 18, at 8 p.m. ET. This new six-part series comes from Thom Beers and the producers of Deadliest Catch, Ice Road Truckers and America’s Toughest Jobs. Tornado Road follows multiple teams racing against each other into the dangers of Mother Nature to see who can capture the most tornado and severe weather footage.

The series takes place across the Great Plains where a peaceful, serene spring day can resemble a battleground during tornado season. For these teams, made up of meteorologists, other scientists and tornado enthusiasts, chasing tornadoes is a passion, a hobby and a livelihood where a month’s salary can be made in just a few hours.

Each one-hour episode of Tornado Road follows these teams on their journey across state lines equipped with GPS, weather gadgets and forecasting maps to help predict and battle fierce weather conditions such as strong wind, rain, lightning and hail.

Meet the teams:

  • Simon and Juston, two recent college graduates with meteorology degrees, turn their love for chasing tornado’s into a full time job. Will it be enough to make a living?
  • “Tornado Tim” and his daughter, Krystallin, gear up for a road trip in the “hailinator” – fully equipped with bullet proof glass. Not afraid to bring his religious fervor into the chase, Tim explains to his daughter why he thinks God created tornadoes.
  • Doug, known as the “Weather Paparazzi,” makes a living by capturing extreme weather footage. Can Doug show rookie chaser Philip the ropes or will their strong tempers and personalities brew a storm of their own?
  • Jon, a tornado chasing veteran and known as the legendary forecasting godfather, partners with fiancée Shawna. Can their relationship weather these storms and if they finally make their way to the altar.
  • Newlyweds Beau and Donya are meteorologists whose love for chasing tornados brought them closer. This season of chasing is their honeymoon, but how long will bliss last?

The first three episodes of Tornado Road premiere Sunday, Oct. 18 beginning at 8 p.m. ET, followed by the fourth episode on Tuesday, Oct. 20, at 3 p.m. ET. Final episodes premiere Wednesday, Oct. 21, beginning at 2 p.m. ET.

Tornado Road Air Dates

Yes, that’s right. I have just been given the air dates for Tornado Road which will be on TWC later this month. As I knew all along when I found out it was going to The Weather Channel, it will be heavy rotation like they do with all of the shows. Right now, it will start out on October, 18th and show three episodes that night then repeat during the week with additional shows added to the line up. And just as I’ve been up all night work on some wedding video production stuff. We have a huge wedding to film this weekend over in Wisconsin and I’m kind of freaking out because the forecast has a chance of snow in it. NO SNOW until Sunday.
